In short

Morphalo converts your files on your own PC. It does not upload your files, has no account, shows no ads and sends no usage data or crash reports. The only thing it ever sends us is a bug report, and only when you write one and press Send.

Your files

Files you convert are read and written only on your PC. Results are saved next to the original, or in a folder you choose. Nothing about your files is sent anywhere.

What stays on your PC

Settings you choose (menu, appearance, shortcut).
Logs that help when something goes wrong. They can contain the names and folders of files you converted. They stay on your PC; Settings › General › "Open the logs folder" shows them, and you can delete them.
Helper programs you agreed to download (see below).

Uninstalling Morphalo removes all of this.

Bug reports

If you use Settings › Report a bug and press Send, Morphalo sends to morphalo.com:

What you wrote in the report.
Your email address, only if you typed one, so we can reply.
Technical details: the Morphalo version, the Windows version, the language the app uses and the processor type (x64 or Arm64).
Recent lines of Morphalo's logs, only if you leave "Attach Morphalo's logs" ticked. They can contain the names and folders of files you converted.

Nothing is sent before you press Send. The report travels over an encrypted connection through Cloudflare, which protects morphalo.com, and is stored on our own server together with the internet address it came from, which we keep only to stop abuse. We use reports only to find and fix problems in Morphalo, and share them with no one. Each report is deleted after 12 months; to have yours deleted sooner, write to privacy@morphalo.com.

Downloads of helper programs

Some conversions need a free helper program: LibreOffice (Word, Excel and PowerPoint files), Pandoc (Markdown, HTML, EPUB) and 7-Zip (making 7Z archives). The first time one is needed, Morphalo asks you, then downloads it directly from its publisher: The Document Foundation (download.documentfoundation.org) for LibreOffice, and GitHub (github.com) for Pandoc and 7-Zip. Like any download, that request shows your IP address to that site. Morphalo sends nothing else with it.

Buying Morphalo

Morphalo is sold through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft handles the purchase under the Microsoft Privacy Statement; we receive no payment or account details from it beyond what Microsoft reports to developers about sales.

Children

Morphalo is not made for children and collects no personal information from anyone, unless they choose to send a bug report.

Changes

If a future version handles information differently, this page will say so before that version is released, with a new date at the top.
